I have always enjoyed watching Bollywood movies, but over time, I realized that some of the most enjoyable films are not always the ones everyone is talking about.
Big Bollywood releases usually dominate social media, YouTube, entertainment websites, and everyday conversations. Meanwhile, some genuinely interesting movies quietly arrive without receiving the attention they deserve.
That is exactly what happened with the movies on this list.
I watched these films and genuinely enjoyed them. What surprised me was how little discussion I found around some of them. Many people either had not heard of these movies or simply skipped them because bigger Bollywood releases were getting all the attention.

Why I Recommend These Underrated Bollywood Movies
The main reason I wanted to write this article is simple: I watched these movies and enjoyed them, but I noticed that they were not receiving the level of attention I expected.
That made me realize how easy it is for good movies to disappear among bigger releases.
Bollywood produces a huge number of films every year. Movies with the biggest stars, largest budgets, and strongest marketing campaigns naturally receive more attention.
But sometimes a smaller or less-discussed movie can give you a surprisingly enjoyable experience.
That is what happened to me with several movies on this list.
I am not claiming that every film here is perfect. Instead, I am recommending them because I believe they deserve a chance.

Are These Really the Most Underrated Bollywood Movies of 2026?
There is no official definition of an “underrated” movie, so I would not say that this is an objective ranking.
This is my personal selection based on the movies I watched and enjoyed and the amount of attention they appeared to receive compared with bigger Bollywood releases.
Your experience may be completely different.
And that is actually part of the fun of discovering underrated movies.
One person’s overlooked film can become another person’s favourite movie.

My Take
After watching these movies, I realized once again that a movie does not have to be a huge box-office success or dominate social media to be worth watching.
Some of the films on this list may be familiar to you, while others may be completely new. But that is the whole point of sharing them.
I enjoyed watching these movies, and I honestly felt that many of them deserved a larger audience. That is why I decided to put together this list of underrated Bollywood movies 2026.
